Coconut soap
🧼 Coconut Soap
Handmade soap for washing the face, hands, and body
Ingredients: Sodium Cocoate (lye that has turned into a fatty acid salt during saponification), Aqua, Glycerin (naturally formed during saponification), Cocos Nucifera Oil (refined coconut oil), Mica (in coloured soaps).
Avoid contact with eyes. For external use only.
Suitable for: all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Coconut oil supports the skin’s natural chemical balance. It helps protect the skin from infections and alleviates dryness. The amino acids, vitamin E, and saturated fatty acids in coconut oil moisturise the skin and create a protective layer, aiding faster recovery. This single-ingredient, hand-crafted natural soap contains no unnecessary additives and is fragrance-free. Coconut oil provides rich, creamy lather and removes even stubborn dirt while remaining gentle and protective on the skin.
All Mai Shop bar soaps are made from natural ingredients using the cold-process method. To achieve the highest quality, we cure the soaps at the right temperature for at least 10 weeks. During this time, the initially added water evaporates, the soap completes saponification, and becomes harder and longer-lasting. The longer the bar soap cures, the more moisture it loses and the more its weight decreases — like a well-aged artisan cheese, offering an experience for true natural-skincare enthusiasts.
Why is there a white layer on the surface of the soap?
Some of our soaps may have a thin white layer called soda ash. It forms naturally during the soap-making process when the soap mixture comes into contact with air. Soda ash does not affect the quality or use of the soap — it remains just as gentle and effective. It is purely a cosmetic phenomenon and a sign of genuine, traditional soap craftsmanship. 🌿
What is Mica?
Micas are mineral colourants made from mica, oxides, and ultramarines.
